Activities
  • Structure

  • Aegee Europe

  • Network
  • These are the activities organized by each AEGEE Antenna; more Antennas are usually called “Network”. So, we can classify networks activities in:
    * Conferences
    * Statutory eventes
    * European Schools
    * Recreative events
    * Summer Universities
    * Projects e Working Groups

  • Deadline

  • Each AEGEE event has a deadline, besides that it’s not possible to apply for that event; for example the Summer University deadline is usually fixed in the middle of April, therefore it’s better to check the calendar of events and specially the deadlines to apply for.

  • Conferences

    Conferences are probably the most important part of AEGEE activities. They are organized by locals and working groups which are free to choose the topic as long as it reflects the aims of AEGEE. The conferences are places for people from all over Europe to meet and to discuss together all topics having importance for our lives and our common future. During lectures, workshops, excursions and leisure-time activities, these students have an opportunity to exchange their opinions, ideas, information and impressions. However, AEGEE does not organize conferences just because of organizing. Every local planning to make a conference should ask itself the question why it is organizing the conference, why on this theme and what results it wants to reach. Then a report with the results of the event should be published and distributed to the rest of the network. Conferences can be divided into three categories: AEGEE-Europe events, European events and local events.

  • Statutory events (Agora and European Board Meeting)
  • torna su
    AGORA and European Board Meetings (EBM) are meant to discuss the future of AEGEE, evaluate the past year and elect a new European board (CD) for our office in Brussels. Up to 800 members gather twice a year (Spring and Fall) at the AGORA, our general assembly. AGORA are the largest events of AEGEE and, together with the EBM’s, form the political heart of AEGEE. EBM’s are also held twice a year and are considered as the ‘thinktank’, in which new proposals for the upcoming AGORA are developed. These two events are great for people who like (international) politics and debating. However, a great deal of people like them just because it’s a great meeting place conjoint with a great international ambiance and fun & leisure post-events.

  • European Schools (ES) – Regional Meetings (RM)
  • torna su
    European Schools are of major importance for the Internal Education system of AEGEE. The ultimate responsibility for ESs lies with the IE Responsible. The IE Responsible is in charge of finding locals to host the ESs. He/she decides about the time of the event, appoints/dismisses the ES Manager and keeps in touch with him. All decisions to be taken by the IE Responsible concerning the ESs should be discussed within the Academy Board.
    Our Internal Education Activities are dedicated to transfer skills and experience to the next generations of AEGEE. It will help you to understand with your heart and brain the nature of AEGEE and the nature of European integration and co-operation. For one weekend till one week you are living on the fast lane: in an interesting mixture of lectures, workshops, role plays, parties and excursions, you will face team mates with other cultural backgrounds, tackle the challenging tasks together with them, face and solve the usual small conflicts and misunderstandings and, by that, you will gain new friends like almost nowhere else.
    Regional Meetings are special events where the locals antennas of the whole AEGEE Region are invited to join in. AEGEE-Palermo belongs at the RAINBOW-REGION (in which take part antennas from Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina).
    Regions are 10 in total, in fact besides the Rainbow there are also other 9: Duch, Balkania, Carpathian, Central, Spirit, North, North-West, South-West and Weisen.
    Regional Meetings consist to gather the antennas of the Region to discuss about the activities, matters, projects and whatever kind of subject. Obviously it’s always foresaw a social program, made by the local antenna organizer. Usually The Region organizes two Regional Meetings in a year and the fee is about 30 Euros for person (lodging and meals included) and the event duration is maximum three days.

  • Recreative events

    This kind of events are not linked with any “Statutory Event”, but represent a different way to spend a little holiday, to know new people, to see a new place in Europe etc…no workshops, courses, discussions, elections and something like that.
    For example you can spend a white week in the mountain; special events like New Years’ Day, Christmas or Easter in a European city or normal events with a special topic like “Traditional wine festival” or “Sicilian cakes competition” and more.
    This kind of events can last few days or one week and can be open to any quantity of people, from a dozen to hundred and more people!

  • Summer University

    A Summer University it is usually a two-week event organized by an AEGEE local when between 20 and 60 students come together from all over Europe. Summer Universities are very well organized by students for students. The activities carried during a Summer University range from academic activities: classes to learn a foreign language, different courses on technical themes to multicultural activities: get familiar with Finnish culture, Spanish history, Greek mythology; learn how to sail or tracking or etc. Each year around 100 Summer Universities take place all around Europe, with around 2500 students from more than a 30 European countries; from Italy to Russia, and from Finland to Spain
