Apart from the structure of the various locals there is the European level. AEGEE, being a truly international organisation does not have a national structure since this would degrade the international and cross-border character of the organisation.

Agorà
The Agora is the general assembly of all the AEGEE antennae. This body meets twice a year and approves or disapproves the policies and guidelines set out by the CD for the next year. It is a kind of parliamentary assembly of AEGEE. Up to a 1,000 AEGEE members gather for three days to discuss proposals and projects, and to take decisions. On top of that the Agora votes on both the moral and the financial report of the CD. Those reports are written by the CD as to give the Agora an overview of what has been done for the last six months by the CD. Apart from this, the Agora also is a huge social event in which many old friends meet and new ones are being made.

Planning Meeting or EBM (European Board Meeting)
At the Planning Meeting (PM), which is also held twice a year, delegates from local boards meet and discuss the ongoing work of AEGEE. It also is a preparation meeting for the Agora. It gives the CD and local board an opportunity to meet and to exchange thoughts. Also it makes local boards more aware of the European level of AEGEE and the work done in Brussels which leads to a better understanding of the network.

Comité Directeur
The Comité Directeur is the central board of AEGEE-Europe . It consists of nine persons who work continually for the duration of a year in the head office in Brussels. That is, if they are not travelling throughout the network. The tasks of the CD are in fact threefold. First, they set out the policies and guidelines that will steer the organisation. Those have to be approved by the Agora. Second, they deal with a lot of administrative tasks at the European level, which are necessary to keep AEGEE running as an organisation. Third, they co-ordinate the network and its activities. Since AEGEE is a big and diverse organisation this is not an easy task. Every CD member has his or her own area of responsibility. Also, the CD is the representative body of AEGEE and maintains contacts the European Union and the Council of Europe.

Commissions
AEGEE-Europe has various committees which function is to either support the CD or to control the CD and/or the network. They are the responsibility of a certain CD member who meets them on a regular basis. Currently, there are the Audit Committee, the Members Committee, the Juridical Committee and the Network Committee. The Audit Committee checks whether the finances of the association have been handled by the treasurer with the appropriate care and advises the Agora on the topic. Its advice usually has a great impact on the vote on the financial report, which is a sign of approval or disapproval of the financial management of the CD. The Members Committee settles disputes between locals within the network. The Juridical Committee guards the consistency of the corpus juridicum, the legal backbone of the organisation and deals with applications of new locals. The Network Committee maintains communication and co-ordination within the network. Therefore AEGEE is divided into ten regions, all consisting of vario us countries. Those regions have their own Network Committee that reports to the central one.

Project Teams
The international project teams of the association co-ordinate the work on the European-wide projects of AEGEE. These projects are series of conferences and other activities on a certain subject. The teams consist of members from the different participating locals. Since time and distance play obstructive factors in this respect, the work of those project teams Is highly valuable however difficult.
